I have written only two other poems right out.   I didn&#8217;t understand what I had written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sixteen years later, I had come to believe that Jesus is Lord, that he had died on the cross to save me from my sins, and I had confessed these truths in faith and had been saved, or born-again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I asked Jesus to explain the poem to me.   He said that he was the one who was &#8220;splendorous with the coming of the sun&#8221;, who had &#8220;alighted within the Court and set the leaves of countless summers past astir&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sixteen years before I was saved, Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, inspired me to write a poem the first three stanzas were about him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;The Bands of Years&#8217; was my first Christian poem.
